About

training outdoors

By no means am I a fitness expert. I haven’t published scientific papers or completed advanced qualifications (just a standard PT course). Just like anyone else, I began my fitness journey with little knowledge and found my way into making fitness an integral part of my life.

We all have different reasons for starting lifting weights, running or joining a bootcamp. When I started doing home workouts as a teenager the aesthetic element of exercise was important to me. However, further down the line, the mental and physical benefits of exercise became the bigger reason to come back to the gym. At that stage aesthetics achieved through consistent training, adequate diet and recovery was just a bonus.

In this blog, I am going to share my experiences in everything related to fitness and active life. I started my own “full-time” gym routine about 7 years ago and received a PT qualification about 3 years ago. Still, I learn every day and discover new ways to challenge my body. I am a firm believer in a well-rounded fitness routine. Strength training, cardio, mobility, flexibility – all of these are important for a functioning body. I do acknowledge though, that different things work for different people and there is no one right way to achieve a balanced exercise programme which I am going to address in my posts.

When I’m not training or doing my day job I enjoy going for long walks, singing themes from Family Guy and recently found myself learning to run longer distances. My comfort food is smoked salmon or any seafood for that matter. Being out in nature is my happy place. At the same time, I do enjoy going to a pub for a few pints to watch sports. As I said earlier, it’s all about balance!

No matter how you ended up on this blog or what your fitness level is, I hope you can find something that will inspire you or offer a different perspective on exercise and fitness.
